Heung-Min Son to undergo surgery for fracture around left eye

Tottenham confirmed the news that will spark World Cup fear for South Korea

Tottenham have confirmed that Heung-Min Son will undergo surgery to stabilize a fracture around his left eye.

The South Korea international suffered the injury during yesterday game in the UEFA Champions League at Olympique Marseille, as he was substituted midway through the first half after taking a shoulder to his face in a collision with an opponent.

With South Korea’s opening 2022 FIFA World Cup match rapidly approaching, they will be sweating over the fitness and the condition of their key player.

They will begin their campaign in Group H against Uruguay on 24 November, then they will face Ghana on 28 November, and then will conclude the group stage with the math against Portugal on the 2nd of December.

Whether Son will be ready or not, it won’t be clear right now as the club statement concluded that “Following surgery, Son will commence rehabilitation with our medical staff, and we shall update supporters further in due course”
