Wolverhampton next manager: Championship manager is targeted

Former Steven Gerrard’s assistant manager, Michael Beale, is the current top target for the vacant manager’s position at Wolverhampton.

Queens Park Rangers’ manager is being targeted as the successor of Bruno Lage in the dugout of the Premier League team.

A release clause in the contract of Michael Beale with the Championship team will open the way for the Wolves.

The clause’s value, reportedly, is 1.2 million pounds, for the manager who led QPR to occupy the sixth position in the current standing of the second division in England, after seven wins in 14 games.

Wolves are expected to open talks with the 42-year-old over a potential return to the West Midlands. The club is “expected to move fast” ahead of their Sunday clash with Leicester City.

Beale, a former Aston Villa assistant coach, has a previous experience of coaching in Brazil, and can speaks Portuguese, which is an important language in the Wolves team as most of the star players are from Portugal.

The Wolves are currently just one point above the relegation zone with 9 points after 11 games. Steve Davis and James Collins are currently in the dugout as the caretakers of the first team, but the team suffered already from 5 losses in the first 11 games of the new season.
