A HEADBUTT! … Diego Costa receives a straight red card for the first time in the Premier League

It's the Spaniard first red card in 95 appearances in the Premier League

Brentford and Wolverhampton draw 1-1 in a result that benefits neither team; Ben Mee put the Bees in front, but Ruben Neves draw the level two minutes later; while Diego Costa stole the show as the Spanish striker was sent off for a late headbutt.

It wasn’t the best game in match week 14 of the Premier League as the final result serve no one, Brentford remained in the 11th position, while Wolves Continued their presence in the relegation zone with 10 points in the 18th position.

Diego Costa was the star of the show but for the wrong reasons, as the visitors’ striker received a red card for an off-the-ball headbutt on Ben Mee in stoppage time.

It was his 12th red card in his career, but his firstĀ in the English Premier League (in his 95th appearance).

When asked if Costa will face a financial punishment, Wolves interim head coach Steve Davis said: “I imagine so, yeah – that’s in place.”
“He’s apologized. When emotions are high it is difficult to discuss things, but we’ll have a conversation with him next week.”
“We know what he is, he plays on the edge and there’s that player who is bubbling away. It’s a shame.”
